Special inhibitors for addition-cured silicone rubber (also known as polymerization retarders, delay agents, or polymerization inhibitors) are substances used to slow down or reduce the rate of chemical reactions. During the production of silicone rubber, these inhibitors effectively delay the polymerization process that occurs during curing. Addition-cured silicone rubber undergoes self-vulcanization at room temperature, but vulcanization is facilitated when mixed at slightly higher temperatures. If the reactants cure prematurely during processing, the desired shape and properties cannot be achieved, resulting in what’s commonly referred to as “dead material.” Therefore, it’s crucial to select an effective inhibitor. A good inhibitor should dissolve quickly in liquid silicone rubber (LSR) without causing any issues, and it should exert its maximum effect even in small amounts. Additionally, it must maintain stable performance over time. Chenxi’s special inhibitors for addition-cured silicone rubber meet all these requirements. With their excellent quality, they help improve the quality and performance of silicone rubber products.
Product Introduction
Chensi offers two types of retarders for addition-cured silicone systems: CX-5002 and CX-5002H. Both are light yellow, transparent liquids that effectively suppress the catalytic activity of platinum and delay the curing process of silicone.
CX-5002: Aziridine Cyclohexanol Inhibitor
Product Overview:
CX-5002 is an aziridine cyclohexanol inhibitor, a hydroxyacetylene compound that inhibits cross-linking reactions by reacting with free radicals through its aziridine group. As an inhibitor for hydrosilylation reactions, it prevents cross-linking between vinyl and hydrosilyl groups at room temperatures (below 20°C), while cross-linking begins above 30°C. The vulcanization process is rapid once the desired temperature is reached. This product is widely used in addition-cured liquid injection silicone rubber, mixed silicone rubber, addition-cured silicone resins, silicone rubber inks, and silicone rubber spraying oils.
Product Advantages:
CX-5002H: 3-Methyl-1-Dodecyn-3-ol High-Efficiency Inhibitor
Product Overview:
CX-5002H is an inhibitor containing acetylene and hydrocarbon groups. Its acetylene group slows down polymerization reactions by reacting with free radicals. It features high stability, with polymerization inhibition at low temperatures and rapid polymerization at high temperatures. Cross-linking does not occur below 40°C, while rapid vulcanization occurs above 80°C. This inhibitor also boasts excellent safety properties. It is suitable for addition-cured liquid injection silicone rubber, mixed silicone rubber, addition-cured silicone resins, silicone rubber inks, and silicone rubber spraying oils. Using this inhibitor helps control the vulcanization rate of the material, extending its usable period. This meets process requirements while preventing the vulcanized rubber from becoming sticky.
